ABSTRACT
Understanding advances in the care and treatment of adults with HIV as well remaining gaps requires comparing differences mortality between persons entering for general population.To assess extent to which among United States is elevated over matched U.S. population trends this difference time.Observational cohort study.Thirteen sites from North American AIDS Cohort Collaboration on Research Design.82 766 clinical 1999 2017 a subset calendar time, age, sex, race/ethnicity, county using data compiled by National Center Health Statistics.Five-year all-cause mortality, estimated Kaplan-Meier estimator survival function.Overall 5-year was 10.6%, 2.9%, 7.7 (95% CI, 7.4 7.9) percentage points. This decreased 11.1 points those 2004 2.7 2011 2017.Matching available covariates may have failed account that were due sociodemographic factors rather than consequences infection other modifiable factors.Mortality dramatically 2017, although remained at modestly higher risk death years after starting comparable population.National Institutes Health.
