ABSTRACT
The current trend of learning goals for universities that they are able to produce preservice teachers who think critically and the teaching process focusing on empirical inquiry activities is recommended as a foundation practicing critical thinking. Generating teachers' prior knowledge in needed using conflict cognitive strategies. Based theoretical studies, strategy can treat learners critically. This study was aimed at describing effects inquiry-based model thinking ability. quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. sample this consisted 18 physics program State Islamic University Mataram. preservice-teachers' ability were assessed test instrument form essay test. data analyzed descriptively statistically, where homogeneity test, normality t-test applied. results showed had significant effect finding discussion further described article.
