ABSTRACT
The International Decision Support Initiative (iDSI) Reference Case for Health Economic Evaluation is a second edition of report previously titled Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Methods Project (MEEP) Final Report. MEEP the (Gates-RC) now known as Evaluation, or iDSI short. This was developed through collaborative partnership commissioned by BMGF led NICE International. Section one presents review economic evaluations in program areas HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, vaccines low middle income countries (LMIC). Distinction made between BMGF-funded other evaluations, with focus on studies that use Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALY) outcome measure. substantial methodological reporting variation observed provides empirical support adoption reference case BMGF. two identifies current landscape LMICs, explores implications case. section includes discussion issues are particular relevance to global funders such three proposed detail.
