ABSTRACT
The aim of the paper is to identify a methodology capable assessing shoreline changes through geomatic approach based on use GIS (Geographic Information System) software. describes case study that reports evolution coastline over period more than 100 years using medium and large-scale metric maps available in different periods. In fact, coastlines were obtained from source Italian Cadastre (dated 1890), numerical cartography acquired at scales 1:5000 1:2000 and, recently, Google Earth Pro platform. To analyse new procedure has been performed which software, particular plugin called DSAS allows evaluation also obtains statistical analysis its evolution. results showed ease applicability method determining strong erosion stretch with important socio-economic consequences repercussions was highlighted analysed study.
