ABSTRACT
Background: The aim of study was to biomechanically compare the fixation Jones fracture using headless cannulated screw, tension band, and two Kirschner wires. Methods: A total 60 fourth-generation, fifth metatarsal synthetic bone models were divided into three groups according techniques. vertical load, oriented from plantar dorsal lateral medial, applied specimen that potted with molding material. stiffness fatigue values compared between groups. Results: In load test, found be significantly higher in Group 1 other ( P = .034, .013). No significant difference analysis terms testing .348, .416). compression screw band medial loading .096, .762). However, these statistically than wire group .003, .002, .016, .023). Conclusions: result this showed bicortical provides a more stable methods, especially loading.
