ABSTRACT
The dorsal raphe nucleus (DR) and median (MR) contain populations of glutamatergic GABAergic neurons that regulate diverse behavioral functions. However, their whole-brain input-output circuits remain incompletely elucidated. We used viral tracing combined with fluorescence micro-optical sectioning tomography to generate a comprehensive atlas inputs outputs in the DR MR. found these received from similar upstream brain regions. same had divergent projection patterns differences critical Specifically, MR projected lateral habenula through multiple pathways. Correlation cluster analysis revealed heterogeneous sent different collateral projections. This connectivity further elucidates anatomical architecture nuclei, which could facilitate better understanding
