ABSTRACT
The global prevalence of obesity has increased steadily in recent years. Waist circumference (WC) reflects body composition better than mass index. Korean Society for the Study Obesity released 2018 Fact Sheet to address incidence obesity-related comorbidities according WC levels.Data from National Health Insurance Service health examination database 2009 2016 were analyzed. Abdominal was defined as a ≥90 cm men and ≥85 women. Incidence rates all-cause mortality calculated after standardizing by age sex based on 2010 census.From 2015, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke both Individuals with lowest levels had highest followed those men, women, total population. cancer escalated between 2016. In colorectal, prostate, liver cancers increased. thyroid, stomach rose addition, medical expenses continuously women.Based Sheet, strategies reducing abdominal related are public priority.
