ABSTRACT
Introduction: Phased retirement involves reducing working time in the final years before retirement. The aim of phased is to extend careers and retain older workers who would otherwise opt for full early This article investigates effect offering on early-retirement behaviour Norway.Method: data used analysis covers period between 2000 2010 comprises all employees 61 62 age (N= 18 174) were employed any 442 companies that participated a survey carried out by Fafo Institute Labour Social Research Respons Analyse AS, Norwegian research firm. I use difference-in-differences approach logistic regression, which enables measurement changes individual relative risk retiring full-time contractual pension (AFP, avtalefestet pensjon, pension,) after introduction as retention measure.Results: results show company offers reduced hours does not have an 61- or 62-year-old withdrawing next two their employment. result evident both controlling range known factors, well characteristics.Discussion: In search suitable measures retaining workers, may still be part answer.
