Age Estimation through Molar Attrition in Korean Population

ABSTRACT
Methods available for estimating the age of a living body are somewhat limited when there is shortage teeth. This study aimed to determine whether average stage attrition (ASA) method published in 1995 by Li and Ji practical among Koreans their 50s 60s. A total 173 cases using 265 molars from 92 patients 60s who underwent assessment at Department Oral Medicine Pusan National University Dental Hospital 2012 2022 were analyzed through clinical photographs diagnostic casts. ASA was used cusps calculate estimated age. There moderate correlation between patients’ actual In 60s, error range less than 10 years 139 (74.56%), underestimated 147 (84.98%).
