ABSTRACT
Non-thrombotic pulmonary embolism (NTPE) is a rare but potentially fatal complication of filler injections. It can result not only from direct intravascular injection also the migration fillers into veins due to local pressure. Here, we report autopsy findings two deaths resulting NTPE following vaginal The first case involved 38-year-old woman who lost consciousness 20-40 minutes after receiving an 15 mL hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. A large amount was observed in vagina with gross embolization paravaginal vessels. Microscopic examination revealed HA lungs. Despite treatment, patient died 10 days procedure. second 35-year-old experienced desaturation and cardiac arrest 4 collagen hybrid consisting polylactic acid.
