ABSTRACT
A combination of butorphanol-azaperone-medetomidine was used to immobilize four captive caribou (Rangifer tarandus granti) in Palmer, Alaska, US. The average induction time for this 5:17±2:06 min. Inductions were smooth, and recoveries excellent. This drug may provide an alternative the use potent opioids immobilizing caribou.
