ABSTRACT
Russian wildrye, Psathyrostachys junceus (Fisch.) Nevski, is widely distributed in the high latitude areas of Eurasia. It plays an important role grassland ecosystem maintenance, as well being a valuable palatable forage species for livestock and wildlife. wildrye germplasm has rich phenotypic genetic diversity potential improvement through crossbreeding. In this study, fifteen hybrid combinations were produced one F1 population with 123 putative hybrids was obtained by crossing two individual plants significant differences nutritional characteristics reproductive tiller number. Twelve traits measured three consecutive years, ten twelve line quantitative traits. Hybrid superiority revealed among both One non-recurrent parent plant highest PCA-synthesis score selected used to make backcross ‘BOZOISKY SELECT’ male parent, 143 BC1 obtained. Sixteen pairs EST-SSR primers randomly from polymorphic derived different expressed trait related genes. Three primer that amplified paternal maternal characteristic band assess purity population, (with shared pair) identify population. The 96.75% 95.80% results confirmed self-fertility test bagging isolation. similarity coefficients between progeny ranged 0.500 0.895, those 0.667 0.939. A subset individuals had closer distance recurrent variation within decreased compared
