ABSTRACT
We estimated the genetic diversity of 50 Jatropha curcas samples from Costa Rican germplasm bank using 18 EST-SSR, one G-SSR and nrDNA-ITS markers. also evaluated phylogenetic relationships among nuclear ribosomal ITS Non-toxicity was G-SSRs SCARs A Neighbor-Joining (NJ) tree a Maximum Likelihood (ML) were constructed SSR markers sequences, respectively. Heterozygosity moderate (He = 0.346), but considerable compared to worldwide values for J. curcas. The PIC (PIC 0.274) inbreeding coefficient (f - 0.102) both low. Clustering not related geographical origin accessions. International accessions clustered independently collection sites, suggesting lack structure, probably due wide distribution this crop ample gene flow. Molecular identified only non-toxic accession (JCCR-24) Mexico. This work is part countrywide effort characterize in Rica.
