ABSTRACT
The prevalence of gout is increasing worldwide, and control serum uric acid level has been regarded as one the therapeutic methods for gout. Inhibition xanthine oxidase (XO) activity which can oxidize hypoxanthine to commonly proposed decrease level. aim this study was demonstrate hypouricemic effect ethanol extract Aster glehni leaves (EAG) by in vitro vivo potassium oxonate (PO)-induced hyperuricemic rats. EAG possessed 132.5 ± 6.8 mg QE/g total flavonoid showed antioxidant activity. inhibitory against XO significantly decreased PO-induced rats without liver toxicity. These results show that attenuates hyperuricemia inhibiting activity, resulted Therefore, might possess a potential ability improving
