ABSTRACT
Many insects have gained increasing attention as an alternative protein for humans. Among those, the two-spotted cricket, Gryllus bimaculatus (Orthoptera: Gryllidae), was recently approved a general food ingredient by Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. For industrial utilization G. , mass rearing techniques production system should be standardized first. In this study, we investigated effects five different feeds on growth development bimaculatus. Feed is one key factors that has considerable insects. With kinds feed 1st, 3rd, 5th instar nymphs, change survival rate, body weight were monitored up to eight wk after hatching. We concluded 50% soybean flour, 20% corn powder, 10% rice bran, 9% milk serum, 0.5% microorganisms, multivitamins minerals (diet C) best mix promoting 3rd nymphs compared control diet.
