ABSTRACT
PURPOSES: Though the situation that roundabouts are actively constructed, researches on effect of focus mainly analysis expected effects using only traffic simulation operation. Considering such problems, this study is conducted to analyze various aspects based field observation studies. METHODS: This evaluated and analyzed from operation, safety, behavior by performing studies with six with/without signal controls pilot project areas for installed in 2010. RESULTS: Through results, it was found average travel time decreases 14.7% 2.4% signalized intersections unsignalized intersections, respectively. The speed increases 9.7 5.8km/h lights. Regarding deviation among individual vehicles approximately 18.4 32.7km/h, thus confirming safety effects. As decrease number conflicts, might be explained car crashes collision pedestrians decreased 62.2% 66.7%. Also result shows lowest point appears near yield line entry area roundabouts. When passing through roundabouts, enter at a 20-30km/h, which design circulatory lane drive out roundabout higher than speed. CONCLUSIONS: introduced below certain volume there behavior.
