Evaluation of training programmes mapped to the new internal medicine curriculum

ABSTRACT
<h3>ABSTRACT</h3> In preparation for the internal medicine training (IMT) programme introduced in 2019, core medical (CMT) London was made 'IMT-ready' 2018 by creating new rotations that reflected compulsory requirements of first 2 years IMT curriculum, including provision requisite number critical care placements. Core trainees completed posts within between August and during which time trainee experience evaluated. A total 497 responses were received. Of these, 96% on an 'acute unselected take' on-call rota, 79% able to attend outpatient clinics, 80% had opportunity practise procedural skills 88% apply palliative skills. Clear areas improvement identified predominantly focused need optimise attendance clinics patients seen acute take. With respect future career intentions, only 63% planned applying a group 1 (with general medicine) higher specialty. Thematic analysis placements highlighted appreciation level senior support, feeling well integrated into team, positive induction excellent opportunities performing procedures.
