ABSTRACT
We sought to determine the performance of real-time sonoelastography in differential diagnosis parotid gland tumors.Between April, 2014, and June, 2015, 54 masses were examined by ultrasound strain 46 patients. Real-time using elasticity score (E-index), which gives an absolute value between 0 (softest) 6 (hardest), was performed. Demographic characteristics, histopathologic examination, difference scores benign malignant evaluated. The mean age patients 60.01 ± 2.97 years, 56.52% male (n = 26). Among masses, 44 (81.5%) 10 (18.5%) tumors, 63% 34) lesions being on right side. The diagnoses as tumors consisted Warthin tumor 18, 33.3%), pleomorphic adenoma 8, 14.8%) other 33.3%). size all 2.87 0.96 23.68 12.38 mm, respectively. for 2.75 0.95, it 3.44 0.85 (P .034).According our results, seems have additional over routine sonographic evaluation masses. However, with a small sample cases appreciable overlap stiffness caution must be applied because findings may not representative tumor.
