ABSTRACT
We aimed to compare the rate of nasal carriage Staphylococcus aureus (NCSA) between type 2 diabetic patients and non-diabetic ones also reveal associated risk factors. Type subjects were selected from outpatient diabetes clinics control internal medicine in same hospital. The divided into 3 groups. Group I included 68 on insulin therapy dietetic treatment, II 80 oral anti-diabetic agents treatment III 150 age- sex-matched subjects. rates NCSA for I, found be 24 (35.3%), 11 (13.8%), 16 (10.7%), respectively. Whereas there was no significant difference positivity III, a Groups (P < 0.01). Univariate analysis revealed that following factors our patients: use, hospital admission within last 6 months, being more than years, fasting glucose level above 111 mg/dl antibiotic usage months.
