Evaluation of the Detection of Pathogens in Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19 at a Tertiary Hospital in Japan

ABSTRACT
The detection of other pathogens in patients with hospitalized coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are not frequent. Considering that data from Japan limited, we conducted an observational study including COVID-19 at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine January to September 2020. In total, 247 were included study. Rapid diagnostic tests, such as immunochromatography, performed 31 (12.6%). Film Array Respiratory Panel was 18 (7.3%) patients, none tests positive than severe acute respiratory syndrome 2. bacterial culture 66 (26.7%) gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria normal flora being detected eight (12.1%), seven (10.6%), 63 (95.5%) respectively. Patients whom cultures older, more severely ill, likely have radiological evidence pneumonia on admission. Culture frequently early later period epidemic, without any differences observed rates. proportion viral among tertiary care hospitals low. A larger cohort is necessary evaluate effect each pathogen clinical course COVID-19.
