ABSTRACT
Training systems for occupational physicians (OPs) have existed since the Industrial Safety and Health Act was enacted in 1972. However, it is necessary to enhance them because of changes business environment Japanese corporations working patterns brought about new needs health (OH) activities. In this paper, OPs were classified into three categories; doctors who spend a part time on OH activities, i.e. "non-specialist OPs", engage activities full-time, "specialists manage corporate-wide programs or lead at service institutes, "lead status issues reviewed. The major concern identified each categories training found be quality management non-specialist OPs, short supply specialists development competencies such as leadership skills respectively. Current efforts ideas improve discussed.
