Spousal desertion and coping strategies among women with cervical cancer in Nigeria: a schematic framework for wellbeing

ABSTRACT
Background: Women that are not in good health cannot contribute to sustainable development but effective coping during and after sickness could enhance their contributions development. Objective: The study examined the strategies among women with cervical cancer different marital context Nigeria Methods: In-depth interview from eight survivors patients of two distinct contexts characterised by presence or absence husband states Nigeria. Data were analysed using content analytic procedures premised upon relationship-focused strategy theory. Results: identified basic as seeking support religious organisations adjustment sexual lifestyle. Conclusion: concluded women’s on varied according context. authors recommend counselling, increasing risk awareness husband-wife support, especially life-threatening sicknesses engender quick recovery improved well-being for sustaining
