ABSTRACT
Objective To explore the application value of Biofire Filmarry pneumonia panel (PN) in detection secondary and concomitant pathogen among critically ill patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). Methods We consecutively included analyzed clinical data COVID-19 transferred to ICU from February April 2020 Sino-French Campus Wuhan Tongji Hospital. Samples Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid obtained by bedside bronchoscopy were sent for Filmarray PN standard culture concomitantly. compared results two methods evaluated their concordance. Results In total, 21 54 samples tested, including 33 (61.1%) tests (21 patients) (38.9%) cultures (14 patients), which 19 pairs (38 samples) underwent both simultaneously. group, turnaround time was about 1 hour. There 74 positive 32 (97.0%) 20 patients, 29 cases(39.2%) Acinetobacter baumannii complex, cases (28.4%) Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 16 (21.6%)of Klebsiella pneumoniae, 5 (6.8%) Escherichia coli, case (1.4%)each Enterobacter cloacae, Haemophilus influenzae, respiratory syncytial virus. 3 days. returned (76.2%) 11 8 (42.1%) 6 (31.6%) baumannii, 4 (21.1%) Stenotrophomonas malt (5.3%) Myxobacterium. Among “back-to-back” specimens, 15 concordant, agreement ratio 78.9%. Conclusions aeruginosa may be common pathogens or infection COVID-19. is a rapid diagnostic test has such patients;its sensitivity accuracy require further investigation larger sample sizes. © 2021, Peking Union Medical College All rights reserved.
