ABSTRACT
A precise assessment of the health risks posed by cadmium (Cd) contamination in agricultural products from regional farmland is crucial for informed pollution prevention and control decisions. This study collected 740 pairs soil product samples Ningxia, focusing on Cd content detection. The evaluation encompassed characteristics assessed associated risk human ingestion. Additionally, environmental benchmark values specific to area were established. results showed that pH levels across consistently alkaline, with exceeding 7.3. fell within a range 0.020 0.472 mg·kg-1, lower than value (pH > 7.5) China (GB 2762-2017). Average grains vegetables was relatively high, 0.013 0.011 respectively. Conversely, potatoes fruits exhibited lowest average at 0.002 mg·kg-1 each. biological accumulation coefficient different less 1, indicating no effect all products. single non-carcinogenic index (HQ) pathway body carcinogenic also had (CR < 10-4), but indices intake via pathways remained below significant thresholds, yet they higher children compared adults. through discernible either adults or children. critical thresholds corn, wheat, fruit, other grain fields derived species sensitivity distribution (SSD) method 0.503, 0.336, 0.234, 0.342 respectively, which screening quality standards 15618-2018) China. Therefore, this stricter standards. rice vegetable 1.057 0.740 corresponding standard. Specifically, found be higher, suggesting relaxed threshold potato aligned closely existing underscores importance tailoring benchmarks products, advocating adjustments based actual heavy metals
