ABSTRACT
to describe differences in the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infections between Italians and foreigners residing seven Italian Regions during different phases pandemic by gender.retrospective observational study.all confirmed from 02.02. 2020 16.07.2021 under study were included. resident population calculated National Institute Statistics as 01.01.2020 was used calculate rates. The considered period is divided into 5 sub-periods (phases).number five crude rates citizenship (Italian vs foreign). Distribution age group week. Crude age-adjusted ratios (IRR) calculated, Region, gender, phase pandemic.an epidemic curve delay observed first epidemic, particular northern Regions, most affected that phase. characterized a greater proportion cases occurred people aged over 60 years than other phases, both foreigners. among higher summer (intermediate period: June-September 2020) last (May-July 2021) all Regions. overall figure shows lower Italians, except for males Tuscany.the should be interpreted with caution available data suggest it at least partly attributable less access diagnostic tests.
