ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this research has been to analyze the prevalence specific learning disabilities (LD) in Spanish adolescents. A first study was conducted Canary Islands region individuals identified as LD region. second designed test whether identification students should not be only based on curricular criteria but also standardized each academic subject (i.e., reading, writing, arithmetic, etc.). We found that greater proportion with special educational needs is LD. This fact a consequence lack identify within category Special Education field. Likewise, when psychometric for are used, percentage lower dramatically.
