ABSTRACT
Extra-spinal osseous hydatid disease is reported in a small number of case series. In the present study, we report our experience with extra-spinal bone series nine patients.In this retrospective patients who were diagnosed an included. All treated surgically. Preoperative anthelmintic drugs employed for cysts that before operation. Postoperative chemotherapy was performed all patients.The study population included patients, including seven males and two females, mean age 45.2±7.9 years average follow-up 4.1±2.7 years. Non-specific pain most common symptom at presentation. Pelvic bones frequent site involvement. Serologic tests false negative patients. The preoperatively five them located flat bones. by radical excision four extended curettage amputation one patient. recurrence lesion recorded intralesional curettage. One suppuration only postoperative complication series.Osseous serious challenging diagnosis, difficult treatment, significant morbidity. diagnosis generally easier Radical resection optimal treatment disease, while non-radical associated higher risk recurrence.
