ABSTRACT
Objective To observe any change in the laterality index (LI) active volume of hand motor cortex during rehabilitation after acute cerebral infarction and to analyze mechanisms involved function. Methods Sixteen patients with infarcts were administered standard but individualized training.Blood oxygenation-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) was used evaluate their sensorimotor (SMC) LI,at admission 14 days rehabilitation. The Fugl-Meyer assessment for (FMA) function.Ten healthy volunteers recruited as a control group subjected single BOLD-fMRI examination confirm location area when performing same exercises. Results The baseline LI affected SMC activation significantly smaller than that unaffected [(0.010 ±0.808) versus (0.789 ± 0.157)],but no significant difference observed between hands treatment.Rehabilitation therapy increased compared baseline, but such effect hand.In 12 dysfunction right evaluated by FMA,the volunteers. Conclusion Rehabilitation can promote recovery. The reflects plasticity infarction.
