ABSTRACT
Objective To observe morphological characteristics and activity distribution of T. asahii biofilm. Methods The biofilm were observed under an inverted microscope scanning electron microscope, was measured quantitatively analyzed by 2,3-bis (2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfophenyl)-5-[(phenylamino) carbonyl]-2H-tetrazo-lium hydroxide (XTT) assay viable count, respectively. Spatial dead/vital cells, thickness at different layers assessed a confocal laser (CLSM) following double staining with FDA/PI. Results formed in vitro on the surface polystyrene materials. Under displayed complex three-dimensional structure which composed spores, pseudohy-pha true hypha. As time prolonged, quantity increased. results XTT correlated those count (r = 0.94, P < 0.01). no obvious difference between varied from 14.3 μm to 31 μm. Conclusions is more than that planktonic asahii. significant Key words: Trichosporon;  Biofilms;  Microscopy,
