ABSTRACT
Objective
To investigate the ultrasonographic features and perinatal outcome of fetal abdominal cyst.
Methods
From October 1, 2011 to 31, 2013, 210 cases cyst were detected by ultrasound examination in Guangdong Women Children Hospital. Systemic ultrasonic was performed location, shape, size, internal echo, blood flow adjacent organs theire relationship with observed. Then all evaluated consideration clinical genetic condition. Those who decided continue pregnancy should be monitored once every three four weeks until delivery. If huge (diameter > 4 cm), unknown nature, or became worse, puncture would offered. After born, newborns examined ultrasound, CT scan when needed. Surgery recommended if there any indication, those did not need surgery followed up for two six months. The features, status prognosis analyzed.
Results
Among cyst, 20 (10%) originated from liver gallbladder, including ten hepatic seven choledochal biliary atresia, one hamartoma. 51(24%) gastrointestinal origin, nine meconium peritonitis, 15 duodenal obstruction, small bowel imperforate anus, colon mesenteric five duplication intestine. 42 (20%) kidney adrenal area, 19 renal isolated lungs under diaphragm, neuroblastoma, teratoma, Wilms tumor 13 multicystic dysplasia kidney. There 55 (26%) urinary tract 34 hydronephrosis, 16 ureterectasia megabladder syndrome. reproductive system, ovarian cysts female fetuses. Among cases, most common type observed cysts, obstruction. Totally, 22 (10%, 22/210) received prenatal drainage no abortion other complications reported. Induced conducted eight autopsy reports consistent diagnosis, obstruction anus (the complicated trisomy 21) syndrome associated 18. One case terminated upon maternal requirement. 202 pregnancies (96%, 202/210) continued delivery among which 201 babies survived except died after birth due atresia. operations offered 138 (69%, 138/201) dead reported operation.
Conclusions
Fetal could through is very important predicting evaluating outcome, development afterbirth treatment provide valuable reference management treatment.
