Inflammatory mechanisms in the pathologic lesions of dry eye

ABSTRACT
Dry eye is a multifactorial disease of the tears and ocular surface that results in symptoms discomfort,visual disturbance,and tear film instability with potential damage to surface.It accompanied by increased osmolarity inflammation surface.Current studies have shown may play an important role pathological dry eye.This article reviews how leads surface.Evidence for inflammatory mechanisms accounting will be provided from following aspects:tear hyperosmolarity,ahered expression mucins,disruption structure function on keratoconjunctival epithelium,lacrimal gland meibomian gland.
