ABSTRACT
Background
In recent years, some researches show that getting younger over the diabetes mellitus (DM) was an obrious trend. But studies of early diabetic retinopathy in young people with were few. Both patients and doctors did not put enough importance on it.
Objective
This study to evaluate earlier dynamic changes retina morphology function caused by type 2 DM population.
Methods
A cohort designed. One hundred thirty-six who initially diagnosed as Cangzhou Central Hospital included from January March 2010 91 healthy individuals matched age enrolled at same period. Glycated hemoglobin (HbAlc) level blood assayed yearly, ophthalmoscope, optical coherence tomography (OCT) visual contrast sensitivity (CS) examinations performed retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness around disc, microvessels patients. In addition, correlation between RNFL or CS average HbAlc assessed. This followed Declaration Helsinki, written informed consent obtained each subject.
Results
The levels (7. 5±1. 6)%, 2±1. 4±1. 6±1. 6)% 7±1. 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 2014, respectively, HbAlc≥7. 0% observed 74 (54. 4%). The thicknesses full optic disk superior 1/4 quadrant significantly declined 2014 group compared normal control (full disk: t=2. 216, 5. 003, 7. 303; all P 0. 05). group, (99. 94±10. 01)μm (96. 32±10. 32)μm which lower than (104. 55±9. 23)μm (t=7. 819, 13. 959, both values 3. 0, 6. 12. 18. 0 c/d those (all P<0. 05), reduced comparison Positive correlations found differences (r=0. 640, F=8. 991, P=0. 000; r=0. 541, F=7. 572, 000). Retinal microaneurysms seen two ophthalmoscope end follow-up.
Conclusions
The have poor glucose control. RNFLs are thinning functions declining lapse disease course, these damages associated glucose.
