ABSTRACT
Study on the susceptibility of 20 maize varieties against Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) was carried out under No-choice test method. The assessed basis moth emergence, developmental period, insect weight, weight flour, loss, damage and nutritional indices. Besides, biochemical characters grains were analyzed. Results showed that Pratap makka-5 most resistant variety with longest time 38.36 days, least adult emergence 3.5, lowest index 2.88, minimum 7.21% loss 1.45% followed by EH-2253 EH-2101. susceptible PMH-1, Navjot, KH-101 HQPM-1 shortest time, highest index, percentage. Correlation coefficients between parameters characteristics calculated, yielding a clear relationship amongst different chemical/nutraceutical parameters, traits. Ash content positively correlated progeny emerged (r=0.476) (r=0.559). Furthermore, ash negatively median (r=-538). Amylose (r=0.734) phenolic development (r=680) had strong positive relationship. low content, increased reduced amylose concentration more resistance to S. cerealella. This research it is important breed considered ash, high besides other morphological physical in order get which cerealella.
