ABSTRACT
Objective: Neuropathic pain is a prevalent desease that greatly impairs the patients quality of life. A lack understanding its aetiology, inadequate relief, and development tolerance potential toxicity classical antinociceptives warrant investigation newer agents to relieve this pain. The aim present study was explore antinociceptic effect curcumin on expression N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor in spinal dorsal horn root ganglion chronic constriction injury (CCI) mode neuropathic rats. Methods: Paw withdrawal mechanical threshold (PWMT) paw thermal latency (PWTL) rats were measured 2th pre-operative 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 post-operative days, NMDAR NR-1 DRG by Immunohistochemical staining western-blot. Results: CCI exhibited significant hyperalgesia after operation as compared with control Chronic treatment 100mg/kg/day for 14days starting from 1 th day significantly attenuated PWMT PWTL. Curcumin also inhibited DRG. Conclusion: These results indicate an antinociceptive activity possibly through inhibitory action point towards attenuate
