In this work, CoCrMo-base alloys specimens were produced by additive manufacturing using selective laser melting (SLM) as well CAD/CAM milling. For SLM specimens, spherical particles processed at 1320°C under argon atmosphere and submitted to thermal stress relieving 750°C–45min. Specimens from CoCrMo blocks milled machining sintered 1300°C–60min. The materials both techniques characterized relative density, dilatometry, SEM/BSE, OM XRD analysis. mechanical properties determined Vickers...
The steel studied in this work belongs to the hot working class of tool steels its applications it is essential that have high mechanical strength properties at temperatures order avoid failure due thermal fatigue, plastic deformation, crack propagation and wear.In temperature most desirable are hardness (Red-Hardness), tempering resistance fatigue resistance. To meet these requirement alloying elements with strong carbide formation such as Cr, V Mo used. The softening determined by changes...
The crystallographical texture is relevant information for NdFeB magnets, since the maximum energy product directly related to orientation of crystals. EBSD (Electron Backscattered Diffraction) a very suitable tool preferred measurement magnets. advantages against X-ray Diffraction (XRD) pole figures determination are discussed. identifies misaligned grains, and this not feasible with XRD figures. also helpful on identification oxides.
This work is a study of the manganese influence on aging behavior hot rolled and dip galvanized low carbon steels. For this, two steels were evaluated, with Mn content ranged between 0.16% 0.30%. The was carried out industrial scale, in order to verify tendency results obtained previously studies performed laboratory scale. evaluation phenomenon ways: accelerated tests bake hardening cold In both tests, it verified that increase might be an effective option control aluminum killed steels,...
The microstructural alterations suffered during the process of drawing deformation and subsequent annealing pearlitic steel wires, were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy atomic force microscopy. deformed material showed curling structure in cross section while, longitudinal section, lamellae was aligned with direction. characterization samples also allowed observing an interlamellar spacing reduction intermediate alignment process. After heat treatment at 1000ºC for 5 min...
We report the results of microstructural characterization a Ti-bearing IF-steel deformed at high strain rates (» 6.104 s-1) in split Hopkinson bar. The shock-loading tests were performed hat-shaped specimens to induce formation adiabatic shear bands (ASB). samples 223 K and 298 K. High-resolution electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) reveals development an ultrafine-grained structure within ASB. A closer inspection presence deformation twins grains adjacent band. These bend towards ASB...
In this work the theoretical solutions based upon upper-bound theorem recently proposed by Pérez and Luri [Mech. Mater. 40 (2008) 617] for equal channel angular extrusion process (ECAE) are analyzed performing a 25 central composite factorial analysis. The uniaxial mechanical properties of commercial pure aluminium considered assuming isotropic nonlinear work-hardening combined to von Mises Drucker yield criteria predict ECAE load effective plastic strain. From analysis, main parameters...
The magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) in low carbon steel (0.034%C) was examined for two situations: after deformation and recrystalization. sheets previously received 50% of cold rolling were heat treated time periods between 15 to 540 min, originating different grain sizes. It found that the maximum amplitude MBN decreases with annealing time. Electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD) shows significant fragmentation occurred due plastic deformation. results are discussed help Two Gaussian...
Steels with different carbon content, 0.11%C and 0.48%C were submitted to a heat treatment for carburization in the surface. The samples analyzed after several types of treatment, including quenching producing martensite. Magnetic Barkhausen Noise (MBN) is directly related microstructure. Samples lower have ferrite, constituent where domain walls can move freely present higher amplitude envelope MBN. It also found that MBN peaks are quite distinct martensite, which permeability, results...
In this work, the microstructural features of particles based on 66% Co-28% Cr-6% Mo alloy, were investigated by X-ray diffraction and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Powders obtained high-energy ball milling in an inert atmosphere, held SPEX mill with times between 15min 120min, about ball/powder ratio 6:1, characterized indicating all conditions, Co phase as crystalline system. The powders have a morphology that indicate continuous reduction average particle size function increasing...
New techniques for manufacturing of biomaterials using additive/substrate such as melting laser sintering (SLM) or CAD/CAM milling use micrometric metal powders to build custom parts. CoCrMo alloys are commonly used due biocompatibility, high corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. In this work, Cr-Co-based powder was obtained by alloying Cr-Co-Mo-W alloy, different Ball/Powder-Ratios (BPR) thermal treatments. The were deagglomerated characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD)...
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the corrosion behavior 1010 steel processed by Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP), a technique that induces severe plastic deformation (SPD) in materials. samples were one and two passes ECAP throught routes A C. using potentiodynamic polarization electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, NaCl (pH= 6.5) sodium hydroxide/sodium phosphate 10.5) solutions. tests showed better performance for than as cast both alkaline neutral results solution presented...
Ceramics are widespread used in restorative dentistry, mainly due to their aesthetics features. However, adequante bond strenght of this type on restoration tooth structure spawned several investigations which aim develop a clinical protocol for ceramic surface treatment. The objective study was evaluate the influence air temperature drying process silane agent and adhesion feldspar yttrium stabilized zirconia. They were divided into three groups (n=10): control; room dried silane; at 70º C....
