Synthesis and antiproliferative activities of Cu(ii) complexes with tridentate Schiff-base ligands containing pyridine 3,5-halogen substituted phenol moieties were investigated.
A series of Cu(diimine)(X-sal)(NO3) complexes, where the diimine is either 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and X-sal a monoanionic halogenated salicylaldehyde (X = Cl, Br, I, H), have been synthesized characterized by elemental analysis X-ray crystallography. Penta-coordinate geometries copper(II) were observed for all cases. The influence coligands different halogen atoms on antiproliferative activities toward human cancer cell lines investigated. All Cu(II) complexes...
In order to evaluate the impact of chirality and halogen-substitution pattern on biological activity, four mixed-ligand enantiomeric pairs Pd( ii ) complexes were synthesized characterized.
The synthesis and characterization of several halogenated Schiff base reduced Pd( ii ) complexes were conducted to explore the structural characteristics antiproliferative properties.
The enantiopure Schiff bases (R or S)-N-1-(phenyl)ethyl-2,4-X1,X2-salicylaldimine (X1, X2 = Cl, Br, I) coordinate to copper(ii) and provide pseudotetrahedral bis[(S R)-N-1-(phenyl)ethyl-(2,4-X1,X2-salicylaldiminato-κ2N,O)]-Δ/Λ-Cu(ii) (Λ/Δ-Cu-R Δ/Λ-Cu-S). An induced Λ Δ-chirality at-metal centre has been launched along the C2-axis of molecule. Steric constraints brought by halogen substituents on coordinating salicylal ring diastereoselectively Λ-Cu-R Δ-Cu-S as major Δ-Cu-R Λ-Cu-S minor...
A series of polymeric silver(I) complexes with Schiff base ligands containing pyridine and 3,5‐halogen substituted phenol moieties were synthesized characterized by spectroscopic methods in the case Ag6 also X‐ray crystallography. All (Ag1–Ag8) evaluated for their biological activity against a panel pathogens including protozoa Trypanosoma cruzi , T. brucei rhodesiense Leishmania infantum ; bacteria Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Ra yeast Candida...
To investigate the effect of chirality and different halogen substituents on anticancer activity, seven enantiomeric pairs palladium complexes were synthesized characterized.
