A measurement of strange baryon and antibaryon production in Pb-Pb collisions has been carried out by the NA57 experiment at CERN SPS, with 40 158 GeV/c beam momentum. Results on $Λ$, $Ξ$ $Ω$ hyperon yields mid-rapidity most central 53% are presented compared those obtained higher energy, same collision centrality range. The $Λ$ $Ξ^-$ per unit rapidity stay roughly constant while $Ω^-$, $\barΛ$, $\barΞ^+$ $\barΩ^+$ increase when going to SPS energy. Hyperon from STAR $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 130...
We propose the generalized multipomeron exchange model for multiparticle production in high-energy proton–proton, proton–nucleus and heavy-ion collisions. For all of these systems, we consider collectivity effects based on quark–gluon string fusion concept, where new types particle-emitting sources—strings with higher tension—are produced. obtained parameters using data multiplicity dependence mean transverse momentum charged particles pp pp¯ collisions over a wide energy range (from ISR to...
The NA57 experiment has collected high statistics, purity samples of K0S and Λ, Ξ Ω hyperons produced in Pb–Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c. In this paper we present a study the transverse mass spectra these particles for sample events corresponding to most central 53% inelastic cross-section. We analyse distributions framework blast-wave model full and, first time SPS, as function event centrality.
The procedure employed by the WA97 and NA57 experiments to determine number of wounded nucleons in different Pb + centrality classes is discussed. We will also compare scales their influence on measurement dependence strange particle yields.
Experiment NA57 studies the production of strange and multi-strange baryons antibaryons in ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions at SPS. The principal aim is to investigate existence an onset for strangeness enhancement effect variation energy centrality (i.e. number participants) collisions. experiment was successfully installed commissioned 1997.
The multiplicity of charged particles in the central rapidity region has been measured by NA57 experiment Pb–Pb collisions at CERN SPS two beam momenta: 158 A GeV/c and 40 GeV/c. value dNch/dη maximum determined its behaviour as a function centrality studied range covered (about 50% inelastic cross section). increase is compatible with logarithmic dependence on centre mass energy. results are compared those from other experiments VENUS RQMD models.
The NA57 experiment has been designed to study the onset of enhanced production strange baryons and anti-baryons in Pb–Pb collisions with respect p–Be collisions. Results from 40 160 A GeV/c data will be shown. main focus is on checks analysis chain.
New results on strange baryon and antibaryon production in Pb–Pb collisions at 40 160 GeV per nucleon are presented. In particular, we have increased significantly the statistics of Ξ− samples nucleon. The dependence particle yields spectra collision centrality energy interaction is analysed.
The NA57 experiment aims to investigate the production of strange and multi-strange particles in nucleus-nucleus collisions at CERN SPS. has been specifically designed extend study Λ, Ξ Ω as well Kos (and their antiparticles) pattern ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions, a function centre-of-mass energy wider centrality range than its predecessor WA97. In this paper we recall main features set-up report on status processing analysis data samples collected 1998 with lead beam 158 A GeV c-1...
The calculation method is presented of the electromagnetic fields distribution formed by gamma quanta passing through medium. It takes into account combined contribution separate electrons to resulting field.
