Pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are persistent environmental pollutants. When entering the food chain, they can represent a public health problem due to their negative effects on health. In this study, concentrations of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), organophosphate (OPPs), pyrethroids, carbamates, PCBs—a total 73 compounds—were determined in 2268 samples fat tissues (beef, pork, sheep, goat, poultry, game, horse, rabbit) processed fat, meat, meat products collected...
The first example of an orthogonally protected ferrocene-1,1′-diamine based peptidomimetic with a stable intramolecular hydrogen bond pattern comprised two β-turns is reported.
The aim of this study was to determine the levels zearalenone (ZEN) in different feed materials and feedstuffs for pigs, as well pig urine meat following contaminated consumption. In total, 253 material feedstuff samples were collected from Croatian farms. results revealed presence ZEN significant concentrations, maximal being found maize (5522 µg/kg), wheat (3366 µg/kg) fattening (1949 µg/kg). farms which high contamination hyperestrogenism observed, (n=30) retrieved well. mean...
PCB 77 (3,3',4,4'-tetrachlorobiphenyl), a non-ortho congener with planar configuration, has been identified as potential endocrine disrupter capable to increase the risk of reproductive and developmental failure. In present study, in vitro toxic potential, apoptosis induction cell cycle alterations were investigated reveal direct effects on ovarian cells.Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO-K1) line was selected model system decreased viability confirmed by application four bioassays. Cellular...
ABSTRACT Structural modification is an advanced strategy to improve the biological activity of selected compounds and effectively used overcome adverse properties phytochemicals (e.g., curcumin), such as poor bioavailability solubility, which limit their clinical use. Considering fact that ferrocene a very good candidate for organometallic derivatization natural products, we have synthesized six new ferrocenylpyrazole analogs curcumin 8–13 . The were characterized by FT‐IR, 1 H, 13 C NMR...
Abstract Prunus spinosa L. (blackthorn) is used in traditional medicine as a remedy for various diseases. To establish its anticancer properties, we exposed human liver cancer cells (Hep G2) to range of blackthorn flower extract concentrations (10-200 µg/mL) and determined cytotoxic activity with the neutral red kenacid blue methods after 24, 48, 72 h incubation. Statistically significant inhibitory effects on Hep G2 cellular proliferation were observed at above 50 µg/mL (p<0.001–0.05)....
Besides the use of resveratrol as a drug candidate, there are obstacles mainly due to its poor pharmacokinetic properties. Numerous studies being conducted on synthesis derivatives that exhibit enhanced biological activity. The aim our research was investigate activity newly synthesized ferrocene-containing triacyl derivative achieve cell protection from endo/exogenous ROS and reduction in death by assessing multiple endpoints. Our showed both (1-100 μM) lower levels CHO-K1 cells....
Lindane, a toxic insecticide from the persistent organic pollutants (POP's) group, may act as an endocrine disrupter affecting crucial tissues of reproductive system. In this study Chinese Hamster Ovary cell line (CHO-K1) was applied to assess potential lindane cytotoxicity at cellular level. The methods Trypan blue exclusion, MTT and Kenacid assays were used confirmed decrease in number viable CHO-K1 cells 34.4–344 μM during 24, 48 72 hours exposure. proliferation tests showed significant...
The release of neurosecretory material from A2 neurons (NSNs) was stimulated in Lymantria dispar fourth instar caterpillars exposed to a temperature 35 °C for 1, 12, and 24 h, as well those allowed recover after exposure (12 h at °C, then 12 23 °C). levels 2 protein forms with the same molecular mass bombyxin (3-4 4-5 kDa) increased prolonged °C. second band present only groups this stressor. There intensified synthetic activity low level secretion L2' NSNs We previously found these be...

Prunus spinosa L. (blackthorn) flower was most recently pointed out as a valuable source of bioactive compounds that have potent anticancer properties. To test for antineoplastic activity, hepatocarcinoma cells (Hepa 1–6) and corresponding non-neoplastic hepatocytes (AML 12) were subjected to blossom ethanolic extract (5–200 μg mL−1). Antiproliferative activity determined by Trypan Blue (TB) Kenacid (KB) methods after 24 72 h. Inhibitory effects on Hepa 1–6 proliferation observed at all...
The bioorganometallic III containing trimethylene chain between ferrocene and resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene, RSV) moieties connected via ester bond has been synthesized. The novel bioconjugate was characterized using IR NMR ( 1 H, 13 C, COSY, NOESY, HMBC) spectroscopy, ESI-MS HRMS.The RSV ferrocene-RSV conjugate were screened in vitro for their inhibitory effects against proliferation of hepatoblastoma (Hep G2) cells by MTT assay. Also, possible cytotoxicity towards normal ovary...
