Pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are persistent environmental pollutants. When entering the food chain, they can represent a public health problem due to their negative effects on health. In this study, concentrations of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), organophosphate (OPPs), pyrethroids, carbamates, PCBs—a total 73 compounds—were determined in 2268 samples fat tissues (beef, pork, sheep, goat, poultry, game, horse, rabbit) processed fat, meat, meat products collected...

The aim of this study was to evaluate contamination levels and the frequency detection organochlorine (OCPs) organophosphate pesticides (OPPs), pyrethroids, carbamates polychlorinated biphenyls (seven PCB congeners) in a total 534 samples cow’s, sheep’s goat’s milk dairy products from Croatia. Concentrations above limit quantification (LOQ) were measured for fourteen OCPs, nine OPPs, six one carbamate PCBs with 172 results, no concentrations exceeded maximal residue defined by European...

A quantitative multi-residue method that includes 13 sulfonamides, trimethoprim and dapsone was developed validated according to Commission Decision 2002/657/EC for muscle, milk egg honey samples. For all matrices, the same extraction procedure used. Samples were extracted with an acetone/dichloromethane mixture cleaned up on aromatic sulfonic acid (SO3H) SPE cartridges. After elution concentration steps, analytes identified quantified by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry...

Raw cow, goat and sheep milk samples were collected in different regions of Croatia during spring autumn 2016. Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) concentrations measured the following ranges (ng/kg): cow 0.93–85.4; 2.0–18.6; 2.27–11.2. AFM1 levels exceeding European Union maximum residue 50 ng/kg found two 10 autumn. The probable daily intakes (PDIs) for all three dairy species from 0.0108 to 0.0165 b.w./day contributing 1.08–1.65% proposed provisional tolerable intake (PMTDI; 1 b.w./day), indicating low...
