Vanadium dioxide (VO 2 ) is a unique phase change material (PCM) that possesses metal-to-insulator transition property. Pristine VO has negative temperature coefficient of resistance, and it undergoes an insulator-to-metal at 68 °C. Such property makes the thin-film-based variable resistor (varistor) good candidate in reconfigurable electronics to be integrated with different RF devices such...
A novel miniaturized and reconfigurable coplanar waveguide (CPW) square-ring slot antenna is presented in this paper. The miniaturization achieved via a hybrid approach including ferroelectric varactor loadings, high dielectric constant materials, tuning stub for impedance matching. For the first time, nine shunt (FE) BST (Ba (1-x) Sr xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">x TiO...
A novel printed antenna with a frequency reconfigurable feed network is presented. The consists of bowtie structure patch radiating element in the inner space an annulus that on nongrounded substrate ferroelectric (FE) Barium Strontium Titanate (BST) thin film. fed by coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission line also includes CPW-based BST shunt varactor. Reconfiguration compact 8 mm × system has been demonstrated shifting system’s operating 500 MHz 7–9 GHz band applying DC voltage bias.
Vanadium dioxide (VO <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> ) thin films have unique insulator to metal transition above the critical temperature of 72 °C. In this research, VO were deposited on a sapphire substrate for thermally controllable RF/microwave switching devices with integrated heating coil. The film based showed performance at room and metallic state (low resistive phase) 80 Switching designed using series varistor...
Vanadium dioxide (VO2) is a well-known phase change material that shows metal to insulator transition at temperatures near 68 °C. It has many potential applications in science and engineering. In this study, VO2 thin film based planar spiral tunable inductors were designed fabricated on sapphire substrate. This approach can be solution for reconfigurable RF/microwave wireless communication systems. According the experimental results, show 43.4 % (from 2.19 nH 1.24...
The main objective for this research is to develop an antenna that can shift its frequency over a broadband. A coplanar waveguide (CPW) was designed with the center conductor of CPW transmission line connected bowtie patch. size 6mm × 6 mm. tuned barium strontium titanate (BST) thin film varactor which tune device from 5.75 GHz 6.1937 by adjusting DC bias 0 10V.
