Background: Nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) is the standard noninvasive respiratory support for newborns with distress. Evidence high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) as an alternative mode of inconclusive. Objective: The aim this work was to evaluate whether HFNC not inferior nCPAP in reducing need higher first 72 h life when applied a preterm neonates Methods:...
Abstract Background Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a fatal autosomal recessive disorder for which several treatment options, including gene therapy, have become available. SMA incidence has not been well-characterized in most Arab countries where rates of consanguinity are high. Understanding disease epidemiology important implications screening, prevention, and those populations. Methods We perform diagnostic testing clinical multi-national patient cohort ( N = 171) referred hypotonia...

Objective
To evaluate the role of prophylactic propranolol in prevention retinopathy prematurity (ROP) infants ≤32 weeks gestational age and their visual outcome at 1 year corrected age.
Design
Randomised double blind placebo controlled trial, parallel group nrolment with allocation ratio 1:1.
Settings
Two level III neonatal intensive care units.
Participants
109 preterm neonates gestation postnatal ≤8 days old.
Intervention
Study group:...
Background . Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) represents a significant public health burden and the leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections globally, it is major hospitalization during winter. We aimed to evaluate effectiveness palivizumab prophylaxis reduce in children at high risk RSV infection. Methods performed retrospective observational single-arm hospital-based study including five seasons (September March) from 2012 2017. retrospectively included premature infants born...

Although many musical intervention studies exist in the wider framework of neuroscience and psychology, preliminary importance feasibility is rarely discussed. Adding to this fact limited research existing on therapeutic restorative potential music exposure during early developmental periods, pushed us concentrate investigating newborns' perception its impact brain. Here, we explore a randomized controlled trial (RCT) approach when measuring comparing neurophysiological versus language...
Background and objective: Hearing loss is one of the most common congenital anomalies, occurring in 1 to 3 per 1000 newborn infants well-baby nursery population, 2 4 100 Neonatal intensive care unit graduates. The aim study identify babies with potential hearing direct them early intervention rehabilitation. program also initiated create awareness about need for detecting childhood deafness among parents general population. An estimate coverage, prevalence proportion defaulting screening...
Introduction: Neonatal sepsis is a global burden on the health and wellbeing of neonates. It mounts too many neonatal mortality morbidity. However, rational use antimicrobial therapy aggressive supportive management has modified outcome over past few decades. A good knowledge locally prevalent microbes antibiotics sensitivity pattern help in formulating regimen. Methodology: This study retrospective analysis microorganisms isolated from various culture samples collected neonates aged 0 - 90...
We report a case of prolonged post-operative stridor in full-term neonate who was operated for tracheoesophageal fistula. Initial evaluation including an endoscopy and contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan normal. Repeat endoscopic under anesthesia revealed tight aryepiglottic folds. Aryepiglottic split performed improved dramatically. Tight folds should be kept differential diagnosis postoperative infant.
