This study investigated copy number variations (CNVs) in 2112 pigs from five populations: Korean Duroc (DUC), Native Pig (KNP), and their crossbred offspring (F1, F2, WRH). CNVs were detected using PennCNV QuantiSNP, with CNVRuler identifying 698 CNV regions (CNVRs), covering 109 Mb (4.83%) of the porcine genome. Comparison previous studies on swine revealed CNVR overlap rates ranging 31.12% (French Yorkshire) to 81.27% (Xiang), 9.06% newly identified CNVRs. DUC showed most CNVRs (n = 384),...

Abstract In livestock social interactions, genetic effects (SGE) represent associations between phenotype of one individual and genotype another. Such occur when the trait interest is affected by transmissible phenotypes partners. The aim this study was to estimate SGE direct (DGE, an on its own phenotype) average daily gain (ADG) in Landrace pigs, conduct single-step genome-wide association using DGE as dependent variables identify quantitative loci (QTLs) their positional candidate genes....

Sus scrofa is a globally distributed livestock species that still maintains two different ways of life: wild and domesticated. Herein, we detected copy number variation (CNV) 328 animals using short read alignment on Sscrofa11.1. We compared CNV among five groups porcine populations: Asian domesticated (AD), European (ED), (AW), (EW), Near Eastern (NEW). In total, 21,673 genes were identified 154,872 region (CNVR). Differences in gene numbers between populations measured by considering the...

A Korean synthetic pig breed, Woori-Heukdon (WRH; F3), was developed by crossing parental breeds (Korean native [KNP] and Duroc [DUC]) with their crossbred populations (F1 F2). This study in genome-wide assessed a total of 2,074 pigs which include the using Illumina PorcineSNP60 BeadChip. After quality control initial datasets, we performed population structure, genetic diversity, runs homozygosity (ROH) analyses. Objective: Pig breeders cannot obtain phenotypic information at the time of selection for sow lifetime productivity (SLP). They would benefit from obtaining genetic candidate sows. Genomic data interpreted using deep learning (DL) techniques could contribute to improvement SLP maximize farm profitability because DL models capture nonlinear effects such as dominance and epistasis more efficiently than conventional genomic prediction methods based on linear models. This study aimed investigate...
