A high-resolution and high-precision autotransformer ratio capacitance bridge is described that has been built tested at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt for dielectric-constant gas thermometry. Its main component a homemade 1 : inductive voltage divider used in configuration. For balancing bridge, adjustable in-phase quadrature currents can be injected. detailed uncertainty budget presented measuring small changes. Considering correlations between terms mathematical model, it shown...

Inductance standards currently available are made up of toroidal inductors, i.e., coils wire wound around a nonmagnetic core. The maximum inductance achievable is 10 H, while modern LCR meters offer measurement ranges to more than kH. Due their winding capacitance and resistance, inductors exhibit quite large parasitic elements that restrict the operating frequency due resonances. Using gyrator in conjunction with standard creates synthesized inductance, which can values hundreds...

A key quantity in the field of electromagnetic measurements is inductance, 10 mH measured at 1 kHz. comparison CCEM-K3 [1] was finished 2001 with a good result: relative expanded uncertainty 4·10 -6 could be achieved. However, this old did not cover all regions, repetition necessary. To achieve again necessary low quite high requirements on stability standard have to fulfilled. knowledge...

Standards with toroidal windings are traditionally used for international comparisons of inductance. The achieved uncertainties the dominated by rather high temperature coefficient traveling standards. Hence, thermoregulated enclosures were developed at PTB a few years ago. These have now been refined and their suitability transportation standards has proven in bilateral comparison between VTT. agreement was excellent, while overall uncertainty varied from 14 μH/H to 62 frequency range 100 Hz 2 kHz.

This paper describes a high-resolution and high-precision autotransformer ratio capacitance bridge that has been built tested at PTB for dielectric-constant gas thermometry (DCGT). Its main component is home-made 1:1 inductive voltage divider (IVD) used in configuration. Special emphasis given to the estimation of uncertainty determination small changes considering correlations.

Several attempts have been made to determine the dissipation factor or loss angle tangent of capacitors in capacitance range from 10 pF 1 nF and frequencies kHz range. In past these determinations were agreement, however, uncertainties quite high. It is becoming increasingly important to assess the suitability for transportation of reference standards used intercomparisons and scientific devices developed be transportable. For this purpose, normative documents were analysed in order find a suitable test schedule, two under – one inductance standard optical cavity exposed acceleration spectra simulating typical each different durations.
