鉄の多くが水酸化第二鉄として存在するような酸化環境下では,土壌中に存在するヒ素の多くは鉄を含む堆積物に吸着されている.本報は,鉄とヒ素の化学的相互作用に着目し,その第一段階として,カラム実験により酸化還元環境の変化に伴うヒ素と鉄,マンガンの動態について考察した.その結果,土壌が還元環境になると鉄が溶出し始め,同時期にヒ素濃度が増加し始めた.一方,マンガンとヒ素の挙動には相関性がなかった.還元状況下で鉄とヒ素を含む水が酸化環境におかれると,水中の鉄,ヒ素濃度はそれぞれ低下した.
