We calculate the ground state of a Bose gas trapped on two-leg ladder where Raman-induced hopping mimics effect large magnetic field. In mean-field limit, there are numbers particles per site, this maps onto uniformly frustrated classical spin model. The net particle current always vanishes in state, but generically is finite ``chiral current,'' corresponding to equal and opposite flow two legs. vary strength across rungs interaction between bosons. find following three phases. We theoretically study trapped one-dimensional Fermi gases in the presence of spin-orbit coupling induced by Raman lasers. The gas changes from a conventional (non-topological) superfluid to topological as one increases intensity lasers above critical chemical-potential dependent value. Solving Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations self-consistently, we calculate density states real and momentum space at finite temperatures. We calculate the magnetic-field dependence of Rabi rates for two-photon optical Raman processes in alkali-metal atoms. Due to a decoupling nuclear and electronic spins, these fall with increasing field. At typical magnetic fields alkali-metal-atom Feshbach resonances ($B\ensuremath{\sim}200$--1200 G), have same order magnitude as their zero-field values, suggesting one can combine Raman-induced gauge or spin-orbital coupling strong Feshbach-induced interactions. The exception is ${}^{6}$Li,...
