Taro (Colocasia esculenta) is one of the traditional crops with enormous nutritional and pharmaceutical potential as compared to other tuber crops. It evident from available literature that different plant part taro contains a combination bioactive compounds such tarin, polysaccharides (TPS1 TPS2), alkaloids, polyphenols, saponins. Anti-carcinogenic, anti-compulsive, anti-hyperglycemia, anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, immunoprotective, neuroprotective properties have...

Abstract Phyllanthus emblica (Aonla, Indian Gooseberry) is known to have various medicinal properties, but studies understand its genetic structure are limited. Among the secondary metabolites, ascorbic acid, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenols and tannins possess great potential for pharmacological applications. Keeping this consideration, we assembled transcriptome using Illumina RNASeq500 platform, generating 39,933,248 high-quality paired-end reads into 1,26,606 transcripts. A total of...

Swertia chirayita, an endangered medicinal plant of Himalayas, is under constant threat over-exploitation. In our study, it was propagated in-vitro conditions. The established shoots chirayita were multiplied on MS medium fortified with different growth regulators showing maximum 79.29% multiplication BAP (1.50 mg/l), KIN (0.10 mg/l) and NAA (0.20 mg/l). With progressive sub-culturing, increase in a number microshoots per explant (16.53) along highest microshoot length (6.94 cm) found....

Abstract: Due to the widespread environmental contamination caused by heavy metal toxicity, is becoming a growing threat all biological life form on Earth. In this case animal models play had an urgent impact in figuring out impacts of exposure different species. The negative effects metals such as Hg, Pb, Cr, Cd, and has been seen animals’ cause damage various organs nervous, respiratory reproductive systems. Additionally, translational implications for human health differences sensitivity...
