The widespread adaptation of 3D printing in the microfluidic, bioelectronic, and Bio-MEMS communities has been stifled by lack investigation into biocompatibility commercially available printer resins. By introducing an in-depth post-printing treatment these resins, their can be dramatically improved up to that a standard cell culture vessel (99.99%). Additionally, encapsulating resins are less biocompatible with materials common constituents biosensors further enhances material. This...

Abstract Macromolecular integrity of egg yolk lipoproteins is an essential prerequisite towards retaining cake quality Madeira cakes and fatless sponges. In cakes, the low density lipoprotein major determinant function. sponge‐cake making, it assists aeration foaming. The high inhibits but helps to retain air whipped in by other constituents. Implications these findings are discussed terms possible modes action during making.

Microelectrode Arrays are established platforms for biosensing applications; however, limitations in electrode impedance and cell-electrode coupling still exist. In this paper, the SNR of 25 μm diameter gold (Au) microelectrodes was improved by decreasing with precision electrodeposition. SEM determined that N-P Pt. had nanoporous structures filled insulation cylinders. EIS, CV, RMS noise measurements concluded optimized electrodeposition led to a lowered 18.36 kΩ ± 2.6 at 1 kHz, larger...

Laser micromachining is a direct write microfabrication technology that has several advantages over traditional micro/nanofabrication techniques. In this paper, we present comprehensive characterization of QuikLaze 50ST2 multimodal laser tool by determining the ablation characteristics six (6) different materials and demonstrating two applications. Both thermodynamic theoretical experimental stainless steel (SS) aluminum are examined at 1064 nm, silicon polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) 532...

Adverse cardiac events are a major cause of late-stage drug development withdrawals. Improved in vitro systems for predicting cardiotoxicity great interest to prevent these and reduce the expenses involved introduction drugs into marketplace. Interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) affixed with culture well provide simple, suitable solution analysis cells because their high sensitivity, ease fabrication, label-free, nondestructive analysis. Culturing human pluripotent stem cell differentiated...

Microfabrication and assembly of a Three-Dimensional Microneedle Electrode Array (3D MEA) based on glass-stainless steel platform is demonstrated involving the utilization non-traditional "Makerspace Microfabrication" techniques featuring cost-effective, rapid fabrication an assorted biocompatible material palette. The stainless microneedle electrode array was realized by planar laser micromachining out-of-plane transitioning to have 3D configuration with perpendicular transition angles. MEA...

We demonstrate a novel microfabrication and assembly strategy for the realization of 3D Microelectrode Arrays (3D MEAs) in compact form-factors. An optimized Micro-Stereolithographic (µSLA) printing process was utilized to ensure complete definition both positive negative relief features. Electrical contacts (traces, pads, electrodes) were established with thin-film metallization through shadow mask double-side processing, functional Insulation material subsequent culturing area defined...

In this work, preliminary investigations into the different sources of sensitivity enhancement Interdigitated Electrodes (IDEs) on polymer substrates utilized in cell-based biosensing are evaluated. studying underlying modalities involved IDE enhancement, we have found that phenomenon has several components - geometric (electrode gap width), nanostructuring substrate, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) modes. By isolating these three modes, article investigates reports individual...

We have studied by Auger electron spectroscopy the incorporation of silver in epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) thin films fabricated pulsed laser deposition using YBCO+Ag 10% targets. Films were grown on MgO substrates. The was found a layer, approximately 50 nm depth. X-ray photoelectron confirmed that Ag is its metallic form.
