Various experimental approaches of transformative research in real-world settings have emerged. Yet, similarities, differences, and specific contributions remain unclear. A characteristic-based comparison reveals complementarities provides orientation.Real-world laboratories (RwLs, German Reallabore ) belong to a family increasingly popular transdisciplinary at the science-society interface. As these general, RwLs particular, often lack clear definitions key characteristics their...

The transformative research approach of Real-World Laboratories (RWL) has recently attracted attention in German sustainability science. Some definitions and understandings have been published, but guidelines procedural quality criteria for establishing running a RWL are still missing. To address this gap, article two aims. First, it aims to derive key components RWLs from the current discourse on similar, more elaborated approaches. Second, transfer these into comprehensive practice. This...

In order to grasp the transformative potential of real-world laboratories, it is essential understand them as a large-scale research infrastructure. Unlike single transdisciplinary projects and processes, labs are not only about temporary interventions or knowledge integration. They also establishing long-lasting spaces for transformation reflexive learning.

Valence tautomerism involving coupled Cu+/2+ and quinone−\./2− redox systems has been observed for the first time outside an enzymatic situation (amine oxidases) with chelates L as CuI CuII affine coligands. Even slight variations of quinone substitution pattern suffice to shift valence tautomer equilibrium completely. [(L)CuII(Q−II)] ⇌ [(L)CuI(Q−I)]

The interface of phase-separated $^{3}\mathrm{He}$-$^{4}\mathrm{He}$ mixtures, when charged with negative ions, shows a pronounced softening its ripplon spectrum at wave vectors around the inverse capillary length. As electrical field perpendicular to is increased beyond value ${E}_{c}$ where frequency soft vanishes, phase transition spontaneous deformation in form an ordered array dimples observed.

Coating systems used for anticorrosion protection usually consist of a primer, intermediate layers, and topcoats. Zinc-rich primers, which serve as cathodic barrier protection, are widely the corrosion steel structures. Due to fact that functioning above-mentioned coatings is related conduction galvanic current, these types highly pigmented with zinc (up 80 wt% in dry coating). This may result not only deterioration performance coating system but also have negative impact on environment....

The g factor components of [(NC)5M(NO)]3- were calculated by relativistic density functional calculations, including spin−orbit coupling. values are in good agreement with previous (M = Fe) and new experimental results Ru, Os). Spin−orbit coupling effects particularly strong for the osmium system. Whereas MII−NO• is most appropriate formulation describing spin distribution, there substantial contribution (ca. 25%) from metal to singly occupied MO each case.

In real-world laboratories (RwLs), researchers do more than conventional research. They slip into different roles. Why they “change faces”? The mobilities of positive and negative ions have been measured in the normal phase a $^{3}\mathrm{He}$-$^{4}\mathrm{He}$ mixture near tricritical point. Whereas for nearly same weak temperature dependence observed as pure $^{3}\mathrm{He}$, mobility drops sharply by almost factor 2 when separation is approached. This attributed to condensation $^{4}\mathrm{He}$ onto positive-ion surface.
