There are two widely accepted restrictions on the application of discrete dipole approximation (DDA) in study light scattering by particles comparable to wavelength: (1) when considering dielectric particles, size cells must satisfy condition kd|m|<0.5, where k is wavenumber, d cells, and m complex refractive index constituent material (2) conductive be small enough reproduce sufficiently evolution electromagnetic field skin layer. We examine both DDA applied irregularly shaped show that its...
Сумма C+N+O в красных гигантах интересна тем, что она, по-видимому, не меняется течение эволюции звезды, хотя её составляющие, особенно содержания C и N, испытывают значительные эволюционные изменения. The sum in red giants is interesting because it does not apparently change during the star’s evolution, although its components, especially and N abundances, suffer significant changes.
ABSTRACT We present and analyse the results of quasi-simultaneous spectroscopic, photometric, polarimetric observations hyperbolic comet C/2013 X1 (PANSTARRS) obtained at 6-m Big Telescope Alt-azimuth (BTA) telescope Special Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) 2.6-m Shajn Crimean (CrAO). A wide fan-shaped structure a weak tail were detected in comet. The mean V − R colour coma was estimated to be neutral compared solar value. Afρ parameter, proxy dust production comet, about 1672 ± 21 cm band....
We use the discrete dipole approximation (DDA) method to calculate intensity and linear polarization degree of light scattered by agglomerated debris particles with hierarchical structure as functions size parameter (varying from x = 2 14) phase angle. Such structures are important, e.g., for cometary interplanetary dust particles. Calculations three combinations refractive index were made, which correspond regions water ice, organic matter, silicates. examine photometric properties...
We develop a modification of the T-matrix method that allows for fast calculations scattering properties particles with irregular shapes. This uses so-called Sh matrices, elements which depend on shape and do not particle size or optical constants; i.e., introduction matrices makes possible separation these parameters within algorithm. For given object we calculate only once then can quickly number sizes refractive indices. This, in particular, provide rapid particle-size index averaging...
ABSTRACT We present results of polarimetric, photometric, and spectral observations the near-Earth asteroid (3200) Phaethon carried out at 6-m BTA telescope Special Astrophysical Observatory 2.6-m 1.25-m telescopes Crimean over a wide range phase angles during its close approach to Earth end 2017 (α = 19°–135°) in 2020 α 52.2°. Using our other available literature data, we found that maximum degree linear polarization V band is Pmax (45 ± 1) per cent angle αmax 124.0° 0.4°, whereas inversion...
We suggest a new approach to calculate the inverse matrix in scattering calculations using T-matrix method. Instead of inversion full matrix, we two matrices, each which contains half number rows. This allows significant time savings and noticeable increase precision due fewer arithmetical operations. An iterative method can be applied matrices whose dimension is also divisible by factors 2, further accuracy.
Using the scale invariance of classical photometry, we develop an approach to finding photometric function prefractal structures that form a random topography. The surfaces is found as general solution resulting differential equation in partial derivatives. depends on two parameters: number hierarchical levels and roughness parameter single-level generation. As limiting case, includes our previous theory considered fractoids.
