In this study, a novel symbolic regression-based empirical equation has been developed to compute the joint roughness coefficient (JRC) value based on statistical parameters of rock joints. The regression was adopted map nonlinear function, which represents relation between JRC and joint, collected dataset. It is not necessary presume mathematical function form equation, used fit data while using regression. samples from literature were investigate illustrate equation. performance compared...

The hybrid action of quantum-dot saturable absorber and Kerr-lens mode locking in a diode-pumped Yb:KGW laser was demonstrated. Using with 0.7% (0.5%) modulation depth, the mode-locked delivered 90 fs (93 fs) pulses 3.2 W (2.9 W) average power at repetition rate 77 MHz, corresponding to 462 kW (406 kW) peak 41 nJ (38 nJ) pulse energy. To best our knowledge, this represents highest powers generated date from absorber-based lasers.

Uncertainty is an essentially challenging for safe construction and long-term stability of geotechnical engineering. The inverse analysis commonly utilized to determine the physico-mechanical parameters. However, conventional cannot deal with uncertainty in geological systems. In this study, a framework was developed evaluate quantify based on reduced-order model (ROM) probabilistic programming. ROM capture mechanical deformation properties surrounding rock mass geomechanical problems....

Shear stress concentrations may promote damage and failure processes. Quantities of studies have focused on the direct shear loading test, while analytical model has not yet been studied in depth. Aiming to fill knowledge gap, theoretical numerical analyses distribution band were investigated. In order reflect variation state, differential element method was first used. The equation derived from equilibrium, geometric physical equations. plotted, using proposed equation. After that, ratio...

SUMMARY This paper examines the potential of relevance vector machine (RVM) in slope stability analysis. The nonlinear relationship between and its influence factors is presented by learning mechanism based on a kernel‐based Bayesian framework. six input variables used for RVM prediction are density (γ), friction angle ( C ), coefficient (ϕ), (ϕ r height H pore water pressure u ). Comparison with some other methods also presented. has been to compute error bar. results this clearly highlight...
